John XXIII Catholic Primary, Stanhope Gardens
Situated at Stanhope Gardens, this developing school officially opened in 2005 and began with two Kindergartens, Year 1 and Year 2.
In 2009, 495 pupils have been enrolled at John XXIII with three Kindergarten classes, three Year One classes, four Year Two classes, three Year Three classes, two Year Four classes, one Year Five class and one Year 6 class.
At John XXIII there is a strong emphasis on music, creative and practical arts in the school, with staff committed to a teaching and learning philosophy that aims to build capacity within the students to be independent, self-directed and happy, in a culture where there is a latitude to learn and a freedom to fail.
John XXIII belongs to a three-school parish (Holy Cross Primary, Glenwood and St Mark's College, Stanhope Gardens) and is very much involved in building a community spirit with active parent involvement. Our school motto ‘Nurturing Hope for the Future’ reflects the spirit and energy of our patron Blessed John XXIII and calls all to action.
